Matching buds can be formed simply with a triangle, dimensional folded buds, or even more ruching. Flowers centers options include perfectly round padded circles, or French knots, fancy fringes, or criss-cross centers as seen on the antique quilt. Learn all the options and techniques needed to finish this block using the needle-turn method with freezer paper on top and no marks on the background. Begin by stitching smooth curves on leaves, or try Barbara’s unique method to tame sharp points so they turn easily and securely. Choose from two methods to make stems and arrange them into graceful curves. Discover solutions to applique challenges, such as pointed buds with deep V points, and parts that go over and under one another.
